Adults social care and all age commissioning

Adult social care and all age commissioning

Our mission statement: "Working with you to live a life that matters to you."

The Adult Social Care and All Age Commissioning directorate is made up of two key areas:

  •     Adult Social Care
  •     All Age Commissioning

In Adult Social Care, we help adults live independently with choice and control. Our work includes assessing needs, creating care plans, safeguarding those at risk, and supporting individuals and carers. We focus on prevention through reablement, community connections, and early intervention, while providing clear information and advice to empower informed decisions.

In All Age Commissioning, we design, commission, and oversee services for children, young people, and adults, ensuring quality, sustainability, and person-centred approaches across the entire life course. It’s about making sure the right care and support are available, at the right time, and delivered to the right quality standards. Working in partnership with residents, providers, and health partners, we strive to create innovative, integrated solutions that make a real difference to individuals and communities.

'Good' Quality Care Commission outcome

“During the assessment of Stoke-on-Trent City Council, we saw a local authority committed to promoting people’s independence to give them the best possible outcome. They used learnings to improve services, supported by effective management and close work with partner organisations. Staff demonstrated passion for improving people’s lives, while leaders focused on making the authority a great place to live and work for all residents”: James Bullion, CQC’s chief inspector of adult social care and integrated care.
